    Scope suggestions please

I'm looking for a scope for my 7mmRM

    Must haves:
    Reliably dialable - Most importanat
    30mm tube
    12-18 max power
    Prefer exposed elevation turrent
    Prefer lightweight but not essential

At the moment I'm leaning towards a VX5HD or a Bushnell LRHS, any other suggestions?

What about the fairly recent Bushnell Engage series? Reviews have been solid for them. Nice tactile turrets, 30mm tube and a "tool-less" zero stop feature which seems pretty cool.

How fat is your wallet? To tell the truth I think for a hunting scope you cant go past a vx5/6, good glass, good mag range, tough, dial well, unbeatable warranty, lightweight.

It's not overly fat, especially for a scope I will only use 4x per year max. A VX5HD seems to tick all of the boxes and is right at, or past, my budget.

Brads basically told me the same thing.

    If it wasn't for your 30mm tube spec, I'd suggest a Z5 Swaro 3.5-18.
The only issue with these is that the 1" tube slightly limits elevation range- with a 200 zero, the 13.75 available mins will get you out to ~750yds with the Rem Mag.

Believe me, the 1" tube does not limit brightness!

    VX5hd.

Not owned a Bushnell LRHS but based on extensive reviews, the tend to be reliable dialing but give up a bit on glass.
Also being FFP may or may not be an advantage for you.

Zeiss HD5, little on the heavy side but robust and really clear to look through!

    Swaro Z5 or VX5HD

Swaro is 1" and lighter, 1" tube makes no difference. I own 2 of them and have compared a VX-6HD in last light. In my opinion the Swaro was better.

I have a Z6 only 1.7-10 though 30mm is part with as long as I can fit into a Z5 or something similar. Swarovski hard to beat.
