    Senator vs SG

Who has got/seen both? Price vs weight vs finish vs wait time? Other considerations?

It's epic that we have multiple domestic stock options.

Ask Abe. He has been using both so should have good idea.
My Senator for a SA Rem700 was lighter than a McM EDGE Sako 75 by a fair bit.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

yep had the stug and seem to tick all the boxs especially the all important price. Finish is not "perfect" cosmetically but bedding is real good so the important bits are done right. Wait time is awhile i think?

Personally i would prefer one that doesn't have the carbon perfectly positioned like the senator and SG and actually rather the visual appearance of the mcmillan which seems to have the carbon just roughly placed in.

I have a Senator not cheap at $950 but very light and only took 4 weeks to make, the only thing I would change is the recoil pad which is a very soft thin rubber one and when using it as a walking stick goes very flat and looks crap.

I have both, I love the finish of the senator stocks but as other people have said the Stug stocks are cheaper and rougher but still do the same job.

I really rate stug stocks, but you will find the odd imperfection in the gel coat...but hey, they're hand made so you've gotta be realistic. They represent exceptional value for money and mine has been well used and doesn't look worse for wear...still looks great!

Senator stocks are very nice too, better finish on the gel coat, but he does hide his sins under a textured paint in some areas...but over all a better level of finish. But nearly twice the price.

If it's for a safe queen you'd probably be better with senator, but for a practical hunting rifle my choice is stug.

After a couple hunts, both will look much the same :-)

I'd almost lean toward paying twice as much to avoid an 8-10 month wait, more than caring about the finish given that either would be painted

I'm not sure about senator, but stug will include bedding in his price, so you get a perfect fit to your action, not just a generic fit.

Which is quite a saving and one less cost to consider.

All things considered, I would love a stug stock but don't think I'll ever get one because of the wait time involved.
