Otherwise you need to get it sent to a dealer for storage until you get your license and a pta.

Unless you have outstanding gear, just bring your scope and possibly mounts with you and buy a rifle here. Look on used guns. Second hand gear here tends to be used less than In NZ and possibly a touch cheaper.
