LOL...um that sounds wrong. Its for WSRA style shooting not real "men" hahaha. I need some minimal magnification to help my crappy eye sight on it as well.

What would be a reasonably priced solution say under $500 (even less is better) or over If I have to.

Are you shooting in open? Or service?
Buris acog style scope could be a go if you import it yourself

    http://www.opticsplanet.com/burris-a...dot-sight.html

Service class compliant, and gives you the small amount of magnification your after, and with most WSRA club shoots being 100m would do you fine

I shoot open, and use a 2.5-7x weaver on mine.

The 2-7x burris is good too, with the added bonus of holdovers for .223 out to 600yds. A 3-9 would probably work, but is a bit bulkier.

The closest you'll shoot with WSRA is about 25m, most of the time you'll shoot at 100, and the max at Kaitoke is 200m. On the long range days, you might struggle a bit, but it gives you an excuse to build a long-range upper and flash scope for the longer shots.

Not sure what they go for on NZ, but it could be worth asking herbmister (the big tall lanky WSRA guy who allmist allways shows up late) to price one for you-pm me if you don't know who I'm talking about

The best thing about WSRA is it gives you the excuse to have about 15 rifles so you have the right thing for each yearly half match.
And shooting historical rifles is just fun,if it was just ar's I think I would get over it

I use a mueller that has a 1 moa dot and a outer ring i can shoot inside the 1 moa dot with my ar i know as long as that outer ring is on target at 100 i can hit a std ipsc target so its good for rapidly putting on target its a mueller multi shot 2-7 magnification

That's the 132 so almost half the price, do see them pop up very cheap locally from time to time.

Definately +1 for the Burris also, have shot steel plates 1-400m with a mates Bushmaster upper on my match trigger lower with Burris 332 sight and we just couldn't miss.

An alternative if you can live without magnification is a Redfield Counterstrike, red dot, built in laser dot
