    Sights for a Bergara Takedown

Contemplating getting a single shot Bergara in 308. Would be shooting out to 200m max, in the theme of been packable in my pack, what would you recommend as sights for one?

Leupold pig plex 1-5 or a 2-7 both very small scopes that sit low to barrel so nice to carry, less to catch.

I've got a couple of Vixen scopes, very happy with them, and they do a 2-8x that is small/light... https://www.reloaders.co.nz/shop/Opt...plex+5848.html

they have a BDC version too

I primarily use Holosun RDS on my .308 but swap out with a Burris Mini 2-7x on occasion as necessary. Also have fitted Bergara open sights for backup. Swapping sights poi stays good enough for hunting out to 200m, 300 when I get my shit together with rds.

Thank you for the info, how do you find the Bergara itself?

Great little rifle, 16” barrel with DPT suppressor. Not the lightest according to some but carries in hand well, it’s meant to be in hand not on your shoulder. Has enough weight that recoil isn’t a problem. Accurate and reliable. Bought it mainly for wet weather hunting and using with subs but quite capable of being only/main hunting rifle with standard velocity loads. It’s surprised a few people how it performs at 600 yards with scope and at 300yards with rds. Not a tack driver but good enough.

Pretty much mirrors my thoughts, experience with mine. I have Vixen 3-12x mil dot scope on it but would also be happy with lower power scope. I find the mil dot or bdc reticle useful for using different loads, I have it zeroed for standard load then use other subtensions for knowing where to aim for the subsonic loads. I use 2 sub loads, 90gr xtp and 190gr sub-x. Both shoot to almost same poi out to 75m, heavier one has less drop at 100m.

Also have a mate down in Central Otago, it's his main rifle.

Some quick release rings will allow you to break it down further if you really want. I just got comparatively cheap Konus ones and they seem to be pretty reliable and repeatable with the Leupold 1-5 scope I have on it.

Can we have a pic of the Konus ones? I'm curious...

I looked at the Nikko Stirling ones but went with Konus as they had 2 screws rather than 1, at least in the ones I looked at.

ha, they look identical to my Nikko ones (also 2 screws each side). Probably come from same factory.

And look familiar? 2 screws or 4, your choice. https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005008906333146.html

Though for that price I'll keep buying ones from Gunworks...
