    Canon SX50 camera and a small tripod. 50x optical zoom, 200x digital, and you can always take a photo and then zoom the photo up as well. And you can take great pics and video with it without needed adapters. New SX60 out now with 65x optical zoom.

    And you carry a camera anyway, so no extra weight or bulk ;-)
