Thread: Sorrell and Sons Lee Enfield bush rifle

I’ve dealt with the fella who builds these, he brought some bits off me. I found him good to deal, and I think it’s good somebody’s turning these old gems back into life again. Some cool caliber conversions, but not my sorta style of rifle, but sits better to me than stripping old 303s down to pieces and selling them off bit by bit.

It's a shame they never took off. I'd love one in 7.62x39 but to be honest I doubt it does anything a ruger ranch doesn't.

I get that these are (hopefully all) made from already sporter-ised rifles, but I think you'd be better off finding a No4mk1 or even SMLE that has had the wood trimmed down and barrel left as is. Plenty around like that and your ears will thank you, (and wallet too I suspect). In fairness, I love shooting my JC with earmuffs on, and I do kinda like the idea of giving new life to old buggered British rifles by means of calibre conversions etc, I have a Martini Henry action with .303 extractor in it which I am itching to build into a .455 Webbley carbine with big-arse suppressor, like a poor man's DeLisle for no reason other than because I can.
