Thread: Spear Mags Stocks

Just wondering what other people are using for sling mounts on AR's fitted with Spear Mags Stocks

Any more suggestions from Spear stock owners?

It would have been good if they'd included a socket to mount a QD socket.

I've tried Mikes sling studs in just about every hole on the stock but none seem to work well, this is my current position but I think I'll drill a hole underneath near the recoil pad. I shoot leftie mainly and the sling mount always interferes with my shoulder when raising the gun with the sling on. The studs fit nicely in the long slots by the buffer tube but it affects getting my cheek comfortable, which is tough at the best of times with this stock. I still can't find gel sponge like the Windham's have on the stock, but when I do I'll glue some to the buffer tube.

also I just found where my other QD swivel went: attached to a gun I built for a friend

I mounted an Evolution QD Sling Mount kit onto mine. Works well. Pics tomorrow.

Where did you find the best place to buy the sling mount kit from?

I use these BUTTSTOCK ADAPTER | Brownells

They fit the spear stock (just).

I got it from Brownells.

Wouldn't be worthwhile to order it by itself. Perhaps somebody can put one in their next order for you. Unless you need/want some new gear.
