Spotted: Customs at work in Auckland

Spotted this on Campbell Live the other night, when they went behind the scenes at Auckland Customs. Video is here, it made for interesting viewing with the volume off, although the angle of the story was about customs and drug importation I thought it had a bit of relevance to shooters who import gear from overseas.

    * pretty much all packages get treated like a rugby ball, there's some not so hilarious stuff happening in the back of shot during interviews
    * everything is screen upon arrival
    * sorters flag anything they're remotely unsure of which would explain why many items are queried as firearm parts when they're not

... just thought it was interesting......

Haha, my very innocent and unsuspecting wife had a macca's cheese burger or brekkie thing first time we flew out of Auckland. Whenever she has cheese, she breaks out in a sweat and her cheeks light up and glow bright red.

Friendly lady at security stopped her and had a chat, she got singled out for nitrate scan. Must be on some "list", coz no matter where we go, she gets scanned, prodded, searched etc...

I kept joking with her that they were watching her and following her around with CCTV, completely freaked her out

A company that flies a yellow 757 aren't overly gentle with items. Make sure you DON'T put fragile stickers on your items.
