The guys found our 20x50 Bushnell Sentry was fine at 100m but they couldn't see shots on paper at 300.
I could see them at 300m at TECT range in good light with my very old Prominar 25x60.
I know that most shooting at 300yd and more uses spotter disks, electronic or gongs. Does anyone shoot on paper at medium/long range and try to spot their holes as they shoot ? Can anyone recommend a telescope that will do it ?

get a .308, then you won't be able to spot the holes at all (because you will have missed)

Maybe the miss is more coz you are flinching and can't handle some mild recoil :P
Video the target and put a 3w transmitter on the camera, then put a 3w receiver back at a 10 inch LCD screen at your bench, then you can watch your projectile holes appear in HD.
My setup works to 2000yrds which is as far as I have tested it.
Andrew, do you have any links to the sort of wireless transmitter/receiver you are talking about? Also do you actually use the camera to record, or just like CCTV sort of thing?Quote:

It's great touching off a shot then glancing right to watch the screen, 1-3 seconds later the hole appears on the target shown on the screen,then I write the location and shot number down on paper and any wind changes noted for the shot.

I can just see mine at the 300 at the tect park 24 power scope
With a good spotting scope 300 is not a problem.
As mine is fairly average, at 300+ I use shoot and see targets-they are a lot cheeper than the sporting scope I want but never seem to buy and let me see .308 holes at 500 with my cheeper spotter.

It sounds like no amount of glass is going to see much past 300m.

I can see my shots easy at the 300m stand with my 4.5-14 VX3 (at TECT Range). Just use a piece of white A3 paper with a 1-2" dot to aim at. Cheapish Handy Cam with good zoom will probably work as well, don't even have to set it on record, just set it up on a tripod and look at the viewing screen. Cheap spotting scopes are a waste of money, spend the dosh up front or not bother.
