    Steel or Alloy base for Quick Detach Scopes

    Need to put a base on my buddies Tikka T3 for his Thermal & it has the QD mount is the Leupold or other 7075 Grade Alloy up to the job or need to go steel ?

    What have others found ?

    I might need one soon to & it is a 9.3X62 which has some stiff recoil.

    I went to steel bases on my A7 and the consistency of reattaching and removing optics improved a lot,I swap between 2 scopes and a red dot with confidence.
