Hi guys, I have an action that has Ben tapped for a scope rail. Anyhow I'd like them to be plugged welded smoothed off and the action reblued refinished. Anyone have any recommendations for a Smith for this work?

That was suggested but it really needs to go back to its former glory.
Another method much practiced in the US is to fill the hole with a screw (one that you know takes blue) of the correct thread and then gently preen the head to completely fill the hole. Correctly done this will make an invisible repair. Dave Ward used this method on an Oberndorf Mauser original sporting rifle he did up for me.
Here are some before and after pics using the above method. Thought I'd give it a go. Was planning on parkerizing or some form of coating so should hopefully be invisible once finished.

That method as shown by NZShoota is an excellent way of making it virtually invisible - nice job.
