Note the end of the suppressor. Been used on short magnums for several years and never maintained really. If you dont pull them apart after every outing the baffles soon seize up.
I was surprised I hit the deer. Gave me a hell of a fright.

Do you think it's just crud build-up internally or is there a chance the end got plugged with dirt?

Not sure. A few shots ago I noticed crystals in it after it got a soaking so I ran a pull through through it to make the holes in the baffles round again.
But about 20 minute before that shot the gun did fall over into the wet dirt (on its side) and I never checked the muzzle. Guess I will never know. Certainly not blaming the product. Its had a lot of full house 300saum, 270wsm and 6.5prc through it and its a Mk1 so a few years old.

That won't buff out. Some new baffles and acheck over and you'll be away again.at least you could unscrew and carry on/finish off deer if needed.maybe this is one you took for mudbath the other week??? Bit of crud moved into way before today's shot perhaps

Yes it was that one. It was the 3rd shot I had fired last evening (2 deer 1 miss).

Sure made my ears ring.

It's lasted well.

My local sells a suppresor cleaning product and reccomend it think you soak the baffles in it my baffles are probably already seaized to be fair

If the muzzle got plugged, there is a possibility that the base of the suppressor could have belled or rounded as a result of the pressure. This happened to a steel prototype I had on a 303 in South Africa. This made the body of the suppressor off axis with the barrel. If you decide to replace the baffle, get the whole thing checked for concentricity with the bore, or the new baffle could suffer a similar fate.

I will keep the ferrel and bif it.

Sounds like it's had a good innings, and like most of us would want, it went out with a bang! Good to hear no permanent damage to you.

I miss a few. 275 yards. You gotta just shrug and walk away (after checking).

Short barrels, magnums, moisture, heat, old age & use give suppressors a hard time no matter the brand
