    Thermal scope?

A mate of mine has a 6.6x55 rifle and he is wanting to fit a thermal scope.
What's a reasonable thermal scope that will work OK.
    Nothing too complicated wanted.
What would you recommend him to look at please?
Main targets are deer, pigs, goats, etc.
    Thanks.
Artillery lends dignity to what would otherwise be an unseemly brawl.

    range? budget?

I was eyeing up one of these a little while ago, specs look pretty sharp for the price.

I’ve found the pard gear to be excellent although I use NV for the scope, also run a 6.5x55
If i could have a full time job shooting pests i'm up for over time.

Multi spectral scopes are pretty sweet. I have a DNT tnc225r. Lower res end in terms of the thermal channel, but the addition of NV and day mode makes up for it. Plenty of options for precise target ID. Usable in daytime as well. Picture in picture thermal/NV is awesome too. Theres some footage of mine later in this vid:

Sytong/ falcon from night vision nz would have to be one of the best value for money in my opinion, regardless of brand you want something with a rangefinder as its very hard to judge distance looking throuhh themName: 1754113211977.jpg

A 6.5 swede is on the limit of recoil for eye relief, I'm assuming ya mate has either a muzzle brake or suppressor ??

This is a very good point. Given unlikely to be shooting at long ranges, if have the option of using reloads, could put together a reduced load for night shooting. maybe around 100-123gn at Grendel velocities?

Falcon Medusa is exceptional value. Under 3k. It’s got a big 640 sensor with a large 50mm lens to give high resolution. The mag range is good for most types of nz hunting. Button layout is simple. It has advanced features like LRF and ballistics he can use once comfortable with basic use. Plenty of retailers around nz stock or can order.
