    Thinking of getting my e-cat

So i've been tossing up weather to buy a thumb-hole stock or just invest into e cat all together.
so far the best value safe i can find is the edge 5 gun ecat safe for 599 plus 60 for shipping but there is a 9 gun one sold by a user biwg_97 for a little more but the internal dimensions are the same as the edge 5 gun one whats up with that ?

    anyhow few questions

can i bring in my own 30 round mags once i have my e-cat need to file a permit first i guess ?
also how much roughly does the licence cost ?
is there anything else i should be aware of ?
also main reason i want it is for service rifle shoots would like to get into this so if you do service rifle shooting do you have to run 30 round ar mags ? also can the norinco m14 be used in service rifle shoots ? again do they need 20 rounders?

    thanks in advance

    - E Endorsement, not "e cat"
-Yes, if you can get permits without a handin (varies.)
-$200 for the endorsement to your existing license
    - Such as?
    - You may wish to use larger magazines to be competitive but you *can* use 7 round mags
    - Yes the M305 can be used
    Happy likes this.

No cost if you are applying because you own a rifle affected by the law change. I have an Edge E cat 5 gun and it is totally sufficient for my needs.

I bought a "7 gun" safe that really fits about 4 guns. So now I have to have 2 safes. Pain in the arse.

Hand-in = the probably illegal, definitely pointless police policy of demanding personal property be surrendered for destruction without compensation as a condition of issuing an import permit for MSSA parts, which exists solely to inconvenience law abiding licensed and endorsed shooters.

just remember once its on e, technically only you can use it
All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

My limited experience with safes ==
5 gun. Is two or 3
    7 gun is 4-5
    10gun is 5-7

Yep yet can just squeeze the quoted quantity of fire arms in there but with scopes on you have to top and tail them and they all get dinged up and scratched cos the one you want is always at the back.

If you think you will have 3 get a ten. If you think you will have 10 get a 30.

+1 on getting a 10 gun safe. It's an initial investment that will pay off in years to come as you can get more firearms easily stored.

Reloaders have a 12 gun safe for $900 + delivery.

    Not true anymore!
If you have an e cat firearm and remove all mssa features, other people can use them. I've had this Confirmed by my AO.
It's to do with them removing the bit the new amendment how it has to remain in sporting config at all times.

My 51 gun safe is a 30 max.
About 1/2 what they advertise is about right generally.

My Edge 5 gun safe easily fits 5 rifles/shotguns and a couple of handguns in the ammo compartment.

so gunna ring up hunting and fishing and see if they will match reloaders price on the hy skor 12 gun safe as they stock them and theres a hunting and fishing not far from me, even if they dont would still make sense to buy from them anyway as freight would push the reloaders one up too a grand anyhow!

just about to order a safe off reloaders website and they have buffalo river safes for 945 was going to buy the hy skor 12 gun one for 900 but the buffalo rivers ones are 520x520 ? think thats a miss print ? the hy skor one which is 12 gun they say is Width 520mm * Depth 360mm so smaller but fits more guns ? might need to ring them in the morning also are buffalo river better safes?
