.223 was the meat hunting era caliber 'cos it was simply better. You old NZFS guys are so last year.
And the 788 are clunky and heavy. Their bolt handles break. And they dont even have chequering....
Every time I shoot mine, the consistent accuracy makes me not notice the weight and the clunkyness, but if I do notice, it just gives it character. The bolt hasn't broken on mine (he writes, then goes to urgently touch some un-chequered wood).
