Thinking of fitting a brake for open tops work on the 7mmRM. Have seen Deans Maisy's Varimax QC brake which can be opend/closed. Looks ideal for what i want. IE leave shut for bush or close up hurried shots or open for long range shots or range work.
Cant seem to find many reviews or alternatives, anyone on here able to offer advice if they are worth fitting?
I have one and find it great. After a wet hunt needs to be pulled apart, dried and relubed or gets very hard to turn
Yeah I have one for reasons u outlined. One issue to be aware of is they need regular cleaning or else the sleeve gets gunked up with carbon making it very hard to turn. If you clean it when u clean your barrel then that solves it.
As a brake it’s not as effective as a T2 and it’s radial so be aware of the possibility of more shite heading your way on firing.
