Tikka aftermarket bottom metal/mag

I am wanting to get longer OAL handloads for my 7mm rem mag and currently limited by mag/hand feed rounds. I understand you can get aftermarket bottom metal and mags that increase the length usable. Any recommendations/pitfalls etc? Just my hunting rifle but don't want to hand feed proj when shooting.

I think @stagstalker on here put up a video removing the front steel lip in his 7mm tx3 mag for this reason to stop single feeding it

Yup, the T3x magazines have a steel lip at the front. Remove that by pulling the magazine apart and sliding it out the bottom. I used to have to single feed my Tikka rem mag but can now fit them all in the magazine with 30 thou jump to lands.

I looked into the aftermarket magazine/bottom metal option for longer OAL but they don’t have options that sit flush with the stock. I don’t like protruding magazines on my hunting rifles.
