Tikka stock alterations
Hey just wondering how many of you have checked your Tikka for free floating in the stock channel and removed the two nibs that touch the barrel about 3 inches forward of the receiver .wondering if doing this would change the accuracy much . Cheers

Did that to 3 no discernible difference

Did it to mine, slightly tighter groups.

I did that and sanded the sides down to make more space for the barrel. I didn't notice much difference in accuracy but I think having more space for the barrel makes it less likely for the stock to get pressed against the barrel when resting on something or shooting off a bipod.
I put a laminated wood stock on the rifle now and pillar bedded it and that made a big difference to accuracy, I shot 2 sub half moa 3 shot groups recently.

In theory pressure point bedding like Tikkas have will produce tighter groups, but the point of impact may wonder depending on things like bipod pressure, number of shots fired etc...
Floated barrels may have slightly larger groups in comparison to a pressure bedded rifle, but the mean point of impact should remain more stable and produce a more consistent impact point.
Remembering theory and reality can be like arguing if a glass is half empty or half full, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. But for me, I fully float my barrels like you have as I like the idea of a more consistent point of impact on my target rather than obsessing over getting the smallest group.
