Proudkiwi you are an arse or at least your head is up it - just my opinion but you have pretty much proven it with your posts.

As far as the shop owner goes, he's not able to get supply from Beretta NZ period, he's not a liar. Notice I didn't say other independents don't, I did check their website first, and I know first hand of another that does.

I don't own another Tikka (have in the past) or a Sako (have in the past) but there is a reason they are popular, and their new T1x 22 has some pretty interesting features, hence my thought of a pre-order.

Its a poor sort of bastard that does down another mans gear (except that you're not a man just a lily-livered keyboard warrior) someone needs to take you out on the hill and make you cry like the baby you are.

It’s alright I’ve sold both I’ve mine and moved onto better things! Mind you they were 223s so fault could lie with factory ammo? I have about 20 different packets and non worked. The 1:12 was worse than the 1:8. These were stock rifles with no mods, so I don’t give a shit who’s selling them, unless they’re free I don’t want one. Then I’d sell it to @Happy hahahahaha. The Remington is going great, err both of them! Especially the 204!

You should have another read of your original post princess. I’m sure that those meanies from Beretta and Swarovski are going to be utterly despondent that you won’t buy any more of their products till they change their business model.

Perhaps your local 'independent' gun shop owner was late paying his bills? That would be a good reason not to supply him.

Naughty @Proudkiwi, you shouldn’t bait Tikka owners. The nice man at H&F told them they’re the bestest ones - how dare you say different!

If it shoots 'minute of animal/bird', it'll do me.
Can't understand these Finnish gun owners - how upset/hurt they get when someone disses their brand

He's not on his own. I have a pathological hatred for Beretta and their "Tikka" labelled products as well. Like Charles Upham and German cars, I will not allow a Tikka on the property.
Screwing the customer even further with this kind of retail bigotry does not surprise me in the least.

its irrational to complain that a retailer can't secure stock from an importer... you have no idea why, and frankly a supplier can supply products to whomever they choose.

Complaining about a large retailer securing bulk buying discounts is completely stupid. You not wanting to do business with H&F is your issue, but for most consumers these discounts mean most are better off...

what planet are you living on chap?

Just to throw petrol on the fire, I called my local independent shop and asked if they dealt with beretta nz as I wanted the drop and cast spacers for my shotgun. His response was that h&f are the agents and beretta won't deal with him and even parts would likely be declined so my best bet would be try h&f. I did and none in stock for over 2 months. He also said when the shop opened they knew there would be a few brands that because of agreements between agents and sporting chains they would not be able to stock/or get. Beretta appears not the only one to have done this.I also remember a few years ago I was looking at either getting something fixed or needed something that the beretta agents had. The joker in the shop screwed up his face and started to hand me the phone and said "you deal with them" I knew him well and even though he was being funny he was serious about how difficult he found it when dealing with them! Agents may have changed now but maybe not?

    It's not uncommon.

I used to deal with Harvey Norman and they wanted large discounts as well as exclusive rights to products.

Large retailers have that power so it can mean the small guy misses out.
To big international companies the small guy doesn't cut it most of the time unless they're in an exclusive area with no conflicts of interest.
I'm not sure they even care what the minority thinks either... they do pretty well for now.
