Question Tikka T3 & DPT rail.....

Hey all. Got a new Tikka & will be putting a DPT rail on it.
My question, does rail need to be glued on? Rail and the 4 screws torqued down not good enough?
    Cheers

I torqued mine down. No glue. Rifle shoots like a demon.

Personally, I would be more inclined to loc-tite the screws and then torque them down

We recommend to use blue locktite on the screws. Usually that does the trick.

@Friwi, locktite on screws only? No need to add glue shite between action and rail?

You can glue the rail in place with expoxy or araldite for a more permanent fixation if you want, I have done it on some of my rifles. But some people are sometimes reluctant to do so or worried to spill resin everywhere.

You should always glue/locktite a rail/mounts on a Tikka of any action especially if you have a decent size scope on it

The heavier or higher the scope the more inertia there is on it

This is a common problem on Stiller actions, even though they have dowels

If you watch slow-mo videos you will see the scope oscillates up & down as well as back & forth

It gets worse if you have a decent muzzle brake as the rifle initially moves back then it goes forward as the brake starts to work & the scope wants to stay where it is
