    Timney trigger

Looking at a rifle that is for sale on TM, seems the trigger has some creep and might need adjusting...

Now who can tell me about Timney, easy to change, pricing..do it myself or best to have a gunsmith do?

    For a Weatherby Vanguard...

Any hints advice would be appreciated..

    Cheers Craig

I just fitted a Timney trigger to a Rem700. It was a straightforward process that required just a nail from a peice of wood and a hammer to shift the trigger retaining pins through the action. The trigger adjusted to a consistent 1.5lb which was the minimum recommended by Timney. I checked the pull weight with an RCBS mechanical trigger guage. I was pleased with the process and the result. Money well spent.

I have a Timney on my Howa (same as a Weatherby Vanguard)

Make sure you get the one with the correct number of safety positions, other than that it's just an allen bolt which secures it - super easy.

I brought and installed a timney elite (from greg here on the forums) on my rem700. For a 1st timer working on a trigger was easy with a few youtube guides, having the right tool set goes a long way which cost me $35.
