    Tippmann m4 22

Looking for a range plinker, anyone tried the tippmann m4 .22?
Wondering how they compare with the smith & wesson M&p 15-22

I have an M4 Elite , I have tried the S&W MP 22 and also Kriss Defiance . The Kriss 's balance was to far forward for me so I didn't like it . The S&W MP22 has a nice balance but just feels to light . The Tippman has the balance and weight right for me , and it is real simple to clean just the same as an AR15 . I have only been out once with the Tippmann due to the Covid bullsh1t but I have found it probably prefers round nose to hollow points.
If it is just a range toy the S&W would probably be a better bet , however they can be fussy on ammunition .And the Poms love them ( S&W) for competition rifles For me the Tippman wins out because it is more of an AR15 clone .

How did you find the triggers between the 2?

here i come again , gun city today is selling the aquila 22lr for $40-500, it's cheap because it' s cheap and dirty. the Kriss, the sw&mp will not cycle the ammo at all, the tippman will shoot 100-150 without jamming. the only downside is the mag, it's like a match box needs to pull open to load.

I prefer the match box mag to my Hammerli mags which are just open and more likely to get crud in there and jam up.

Anyone wanna buy a Hammerli? Haha

The triggers are pretty much the same , a bit of creep and then let off . The S&W has an advantage as it can accept more aftermarket triggers.you will not get a match trigger from a stock S&W/Tippmann .

All three rifles - Tippman, Kriss and SW will accept AR milspec and most drop in triggers.

I was shooting mine for a few hours yesterday. They are a great little rifle and I really like the fact that the AR features like the forward assist and bolt release actually work unlike some other models. Even has a wee buffer.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Mine The little buffer went lose , locktited it ran flawlessly. Once more don’t like the way the magazine is loading causing a few problems if not stag correct.

Is it possible to use standard style rings on the tippmann or do you have to use a cantilever style mount?
