    Topo app

    Anyone know a suitable app for topos on my ph. I havw my GPS but my folks are walking tracks on the westcoast and my GPS maps dont cover it. Cheers

    Search the apple or google store for nz topo 50. Great app created by a chap in hutt valley. It's got DoC open hunting area overlays too.

    No that is something different. I have the latest version of Topo50 and the hunting overlay is there.

    On one of the updates the DOC overlay disappeared, but the next update it was back.

    Sorry guys dumbass question. Just had a quik look and there is a few apps. Is it the one with north island and south island on seperate apps,

    Thats the one you want. GPS works without phone signal.

    Question on app use. When in the bush do you have it on flight mode to save the battery?
