    I was in gun city dunedin looking for blueing compound, almost accidentally bought some other stuff they had for turning aluminium black, can't recall name but was about $20, someone will know what it is.

    If you don't care about durability though, would think matte black humbrol paint tin the way to go - can always remove if not matching.

    Match of colour / matte tone will be improved by smearing the entire gun in vaseline for long term storage, but make sure oil based paint is completely set first.

    Main thing though is action working smoothly.
