Triad tactical stock pouch review

Cost delivered is 90 USD, 45 for the unit and 45 shipping so prepare to be ripped a little on that one, you could use nzpost overseas address and you might get it cheaper on the shipping I'd say but I would check the costs first.

As far as the unit goes it's good, the cheek rest is really comfortable, it is a swede type deal and I'd say it's one of the best of its type around at this stage, In doing research before buying one pretty much all the leading web forums pointed to this product, the fit and finish is really nice, not perfect but good enough for its purpose and it has been made with good materials, I would have liked to see the pouch in a silent waterproof fabric but it is a light nylon canvas of sorts,
The zips are pretty good and seem to be strong enough to handle general use but time will tell on that one, I would re tie the cord pull on the zips as both came undone on mine, the internal ammo loops are ok too, well stitched and holds the .308 Cartridge well and there is enough room for a few tools or a bore snake etc.
The straps are just single Velcro units and you can completely remove all of them and place as you need for your rifle so big advantage on the fitting front but the loops are fixed. There are a few colours available and and a larger pouch version is there as well.

Over all I made the right choice getting this and was happy to pay a little extra for shipping to get a quality product, i would suggest getting a waterproof spray for the pouch but that's me. If you want one I would email steve@triadtactical.com if you have any queries. Go to website first.

They've gone to a double zip eh, that seems pointless. I cut the paracord loop on the zip on mine right down to stop it catching on stuff, and cut out the cartridge loops and the excess velcro from the straps. I'm using one that's about 5 years old now, it's holding up. Has black fabric on the cheek side, that's changed too

Nice, yea they are pretty sweet really, I like the internal ammo loops though :thumbsup:

I put a small cut on the inside and stuffed a bit of a foam bed roll (pre cut to the right shape) inside. Raised my cheek weld to more naturally align with my scope...love it, the pocket is just an added bonus :-)

Yes, they raise the comb of the stock, giving you a correct cheek weld with a higher mounted scope (e.g. large objective). They ship with about half an inch of velcro strips you can stick to the bottom of them to increase the height further if necessary.



Downsides? Weight (approx 150gms), they get wet, the velcro does come loose and clog with mud and so forth, and if you use your rifle for a walking stick/ice axe they won't last long.

dropped 50% weight, won't get wet and/or freeze, a bit lower profile. Will see how it lasts. Kydex over a bit of neoprene foam

I saw it on one of your vids....and checked out their website, any problems with shipping?.

Nah just paid and it showed up, even got one made up in an out of stock colour

Why bother with weight when you have a pm2 slapped on top??!!

Lighter rifle = PM2 is more comfortable to carry. It's more important than the rifle

Looks like a prosthetic, normally more associated with old people.

Or cripples. Cripples have prosthetics too

True, I was thinking hips and knees etc as is common with my generation, it was as usual a flippant comment.
