Turkish guns.............no not THOSE ones

Looking at a perhaps gun.
Akkar make a lot of guns in Turkey, Churchill,Altay, Karatey Memmet, etc, it appears now that they have categorised them in the latest cattledog for 2014.
Altay is now the name on all their semiautos. Does anyone know if the semiauto Chutrchill is just an older version of the Altay? I did see somewhere the Churchills were an inertia whereas the Akkar is gas according to other research?

I want a gas operated gun so would like to get a bit of knowledge before I go any further with it.

Yes Gadget, it would be. However I like my B gun, and with a new titanium shoulder I will fear no recoil, by about May next year.

This gun I like is a gas operated semi 28 gauge, for use while my arm is healing. No recoil, according to the interweb, so that must be true! Looks like a fun gun to shoot as well even if a man wasnt crippled up. I believe they even make ammo as large as 5 for it too, going 1450 fps.
Like i say, a perhaps gun. I just heard back from Turkey, they werent too helpful and sounded like they havent gotten over the whole Gallipoli thing.

hunting and fishing are agents for akkar although they are not exclusive agents.a 28ga semi are rare so they would have to be bought new. i was given an akkar 20 ga semi,it was a recoil operated.the action slide was very flimsy and weak.having said that i think they have lifted their game with recent models.the new tribore appears to be a well constructed gun.

in facxt gadget C404 c& ihad a conversation about this gun yesterday.i think its a great solution to his problem.

hi AKKAR the new semi auto bought in by h&f are all called ALTAY the older ones were called KOMANCHI FOR THE 20G AND THE 28G AND THE 12G were called APACHE but in some markets they are called CHURCHILLS and appear to be the same gun a bit strange as they call there o/u CHURCHILLS overseas Don't get confused with some second hand semis branded CHURCHILLS these were marketed by KANSSAR in the usa and there are the odd one in nz the first ones were made by FRANCHI and then they went to NIKKO in japan to make them .I currently have 3 akkars a 28g komanchi a 28g altay and a 12g altay marine .THE 28G komanchi is not as well made as the newer 28g altay but so far I havet had any problems time will tell

Is the Altay a gas operated gun? Do you know if the later semi Churchills were inertia or gas? The 28ga models .
They certainly make some very nice guns and have a high quality catalouge on line showing some.
Unfortunately the imports are very few and far between and also slow.
Looks like a 28 would be a fun gun .

hi yep all the ones ive seen are gas and yes the 28 g is light and a lot of fun its great to drop a bird with it after yer mate missed with a 12 and nice to carry around all day..
