    V4 or VX5?

Which one will have better glass, Zeiss V4 or Leupold VX5? I have looked through a VX5 and it was nice and clear, was during the day though. Evening is where I'm really interested to know any variations. Hopefully some one can offer insight between these two scopes.
    Cheers

Havn't looked through a v4, but the lowlight transmission on the hd glass in the vx5 is very good. The turret system is the tits too

Hi i went to a vx5 from a vx3 soild scope still nice and compact and the turret are really low profile and have a good lock system.
Has been good in low light have hunted up till dark many times watching animals and hasn’t held me back can see better than with my zeiss Binos once it’s really getting dark if that means much have only been able to compare to a high end vortex scope at dark and better in every way.
I mean it’s not a highend price tag scope but for the money I think it’s hard to beat about $1500 if you shop around plus new 30mm rings needed if your like me and came from traditional 1inch tube scope. I read on the web that they run the glass from the vx6 difference being the vx6 has different mag and windage turret and cost 2500-3000 unsure if this is correct or not
    Hope this helps cheers

Have very rarely used Leupold scopes in the past, but bought a VX5 last year and am super impressed with it. Value for money, quality scope, great glass and its got those dial thingy's if you want to go beyond 4-500 metres. And with a Zero stop, zero stops are so important! What has really impressed me is that on 6x I can see a good 10 minutes later than I can with my Swaro 10x30 binoculars, for the odd deer at 300. So definitely worth the money.

I went with the V4. What convinced me was I preferred the reticle choice in zeiss over leupold.

What's wrong with the rings? The EAW's are quite popular over in Europe.

@Philipo is it because you're a hobbit? Perhaps you've got a bias towards short/low things.
