    Value for Kahles please.

A friend has a Kahles Helia C1. 1-4*24 L . 7A reticle. He is considering selling and I am trying to help him. The only valuations I have been able to find for similar are 600 euro and US$574. This may indicate around $1000NZ? Any further indications please? These seemto be rated ad top of the line driven game and bush scopes.

Most used scopes sell secondhand for 60% of retail from observation. The Kahles would probably sell for 90% of it's original retail price or close to, not the inflation adjusted. I have a Kahles 4x32 that I paid $646 for in 1990 if that helps.

My observation is for NZ pricing. The x 60% is for general run of the mill scopes not the collectable euro types. What was the original retail ? Richard Wilhelm might know.

Very good condition Helica c 30 mm variables bring about $1200 here for the 1.5 - 6 x 42 and 2.5 - 10 x 50 mm models. the smaller variable is not so common. Great glass in them.
Similiar value to 30 mm Zeiss varipoints from what i see.

$1000 is about right, bit more if it’s in top condition.

I've bought, sold and owned a few Kahles Helica's, mostly 3-9x40 and 2-7x36 or similar. The prices have actually varied quite a lot, like $600 - $900.
So to @Ryan_Songhursts point above, it really comes down to who's looking at the time you list. I'd have thought $1000 was on the optimistic side, but hey you can list it and see how it goes. If there's no-one in the market for that scope & price you may need to be patient.

I have passed the info to my friend. He may list on tm or ask me to present it here on his behalf. Will wait on his decision now.
