    Vudoo - Bergara - A few Observations

I received my new Vudoo repeater recently - 22" Kukri contour Bartlein, Grayboe Ridgeback stock, TT Diamond single stage.

This is a well built and finished 22 and is machined to tighter tolerances than the B14R. I had a few shooters run this rifle and none of us could fault overall function straight out of the carton.

I've had a B14R fitted with a Jewell HVR for some time. At roughly half the price of a V22, I have to admit that the Bergara is right up there with the best 22's I've owned - It has proved absolutely reliable and with the right lot numbers of SK/Lapua, it is Anschutz 54 accurate.

I'd planned to run some decent ammo through the Vudoo yesterday but weather conditions made accuracy testing a wasted exercise. I ran a 20X5 with Pistol Match at 50 metres outdoors and am confident that this gun will be a shooter - Target attached. Yes, some woeful fliers there but I have to drive 80KM to the range so at least I had the chance to get some trigger time behind an unfamiliar new rifle!

Can't wait for Bergara to bring out a leftie version of the B14R

Nice work! That would be really helpful for me to determine which one to buy!

Good news! The Bergara Lefty version was listed in the US this morning - I immediately ordered mine via Ken at 55Six. Give him a call

Just saw Ken beat me to it too hahaha

Hopefully the new shorter action Bergara 22's perform the same

A quick up-date on our progress with these 700 footprint rimfires:
Just over 4,000 rounds through them now and I'm happy to report that we have not had one single malfunction from either.
The Bergara is a little more ammo picky than the Vudoo but with good lot numbers of SK/Lapua, there is little between them accuracy wise - Both are as accurate as any un-modified 22 repeater I've ever owned.
Here's an accuracy sample shot in "real world" conditions on Monday - Outdoor range - 50 metres - Circles are 1/2" O.D.
A box of Pistol Match Special through the Bergara with a clean bore & a box of PMS & LR through the Vudoo with seasoned bore:
EDIT; I'd better add that my wife shot the Vudoo target!!!

I've just finished setting this one up and started doing a bit of ammo testing:
Vudoo 360 - TT Diamond, Grayboe Ridgeback, MTU contour Bartlein 20", Meopta Optika 6 4.5-27X50 BDC3 SFP.

A couple of nice accessories are now available for the B14R.
Jason Lowe (Lowey Products) just sent me this bore guide and bolt protector - As usual, both are a perfect fit!
A gunsmith in Texas has also just brought to market a polished stainless bolt shroud and reduced energy striker spring - I think the shroud would be a nice addition to the B14R action - I have no issues with the ignition on this rifle so unsure if the replacement spring would be beneficial.
This rifle continues to impress me - So far more accurate than the Vudoo 360 (Still ammo testing for that one) but not quite up to the V22 level. I don't normally "cherry pick" targets but I did shoot my best ever 100 yard group with the B14R recently - .255" C to C. It's a fairly consistent MOA performer at 50 and 100 with the right conditions and ammo but I doubt I'll ever duplicate that group with any other 22 repeater!
