Vx3hd vs Burris signature HD / veracity

    Hey team

Currently eyeing up a few scopes. It’s a light Grendel Howa mini that it will be going on

Can’t decide between vx3hd 3.5-10 or Burris 2-10 or 3-15. (Signature had or veracity) I know the leupold has the better warranty and is substantially lighter. I have owned a veracity 3-15 and it had a great eye box and I really liked the glass

My question is for those that have both, how does the glass, more light ability and dialling compare. I’m discounting weight, reticle. Warranty’s etc currently until I can get feedback on glass

Keen to hear from the collective

    Cheers
    Liam

I find the vx3 has better glass but the reticle very thick I find the veracity has terrible colour in the 2-10 anyway leupold has the better locking turret mine are vx3 hd and veracity I can’t speak for the signature hd

I've had a VX5 and now currently a signature HD, glass clarity probably slightly better on the VX, apart from that its personal preference I think, the reticle is nice and same with illumination. turrets slightly bigger on the Burris from memory and both have a pretty good zero stop and dial function, I think I slightly prefer the Leupold dial with the push button over the click u cap of the Burris but only just. Both come with a custom dial but Burris Warranty arguably a lot better to deal with I'm told (thankfully haven't needed for either) for the price difference I much prefer the Burris all day at around half the price.

When I had a burris signature hd 3-15, it was quite heavy and the illumination turret really stuck out. Seemed big and heavy tbh. Other then that - was a brilliant scope in terms of glass and function.

Had leupold and gone away from them as their quality control seems to be a bit poorer now than back a few years ago. Have the signature 2-10 on my 223 and 3-15 on my 308. Mitchell Outdoors in Dannevirke sells them at a great price and he’ll also send away for the custom dial on the Burris. Super handy. Just range the animal, dial, shoot. The signature tracks very well too. Using it 5 days a week and have no problems with it.

I’ve got vx5 and signature, both in 3-15

For the price , the Burris dominates the vx5, and shits on a vx3

    Glass is on par

Vx5 has nicer low profile turrets, slightly lighter and that’s about it,

You can easily pick up up a Burris for half the price of a vx, underrated and the leupys are way overrated

Cat amongst the pigeons albeit a heavy cat, I was looking at the HD and went for the Element HDLR 2-16. I’ve got the Burris HD 5-25 and if Element did a version similar spec I’d try replace it with one.

On a quad ride recently the grub screws on the elevation turret of the Burris backed out so far another turn and I would’ve lost them. Put me right off as I’d tightened them before the trip after zeroing. Feels a lot cheaper than the Element overall. Went for added features over weight and similar cost.

I've got a burris 3-15 signature an like it, I had a couple of older vx 3 scopes an they were fine to but the burris is a far better scope overall I found, the only thing with it is that the side focus dial is right at the end of its adjustment generally. Not sure if others found the same with theirs?

To my untrained eye I’d say pretty similar but different reticles too. My Burris is fineplex non illuminated and find the parallax all on or centred. The element moa reticle is cool when on scale. Made sighting in bloody easy even just off dusk went well for light. Check out the review by Danny on here or YouTube ones it was just way more scope for $1350 couldn’t go past it. Looked at gpo but didn’t feel nearly as tough.
