    VX5 Mushy Turrets

I did a load development recently for my cousin and he had a new VX5 3-15 on top.
I knew the dialling on them isn’t perfect as I have an older one myself but the windage turret was absolutely terrible and you could barely feel the clicks at all. I know they’re only a mid range scope, but I’ve fet better clicks on $400 Chinese scope.

Have they got worse or is this possibly a manufacturing issue?

Make of this what you will. He seems to have a bias against leupold but it does reflect my experience and personal bias. There are obviously lot better scopes in the tests. There will be exceptions people will be able to quote.

Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.

I feel like if they improved just a couple of small things, it’d be the ultimate scope, especially for NZ type hunting.

Have used lots of them, all were firm with clear clicks. I’d send your one back, in saying that I don’t need to hear clicks, just see the moa number, then send em to the chiller

I've just recently got mine back from warranty, basically a full rebuild from what I was told as apparently it was a Friday afternoon rush assembly at the factory.
Elevation incorrect, parallax incorrect, must have been something in the windage as its feeling soft now too. Be aware its a good 3-4 month turn around if it goes off to repair, it certainly was in my case anyway.

I have a vx5 here that’s dialled well over 8000 times, it’s been on a long list of rimfires and it still feels and tracks like new

Likely they just upgraded the twin erector tube springs to titanium, but I could be wrong

just saw this thread after taking my new VX5 back to the shop today to go back to leupold. Windage has been really mushy and indistinct and i've been struggling to get consistent groups from the rifle.
Bedding it tightened things up but i was still getting fliers, usually around 2 inches to the right each time like the windage was shifting. Anyway, i tried swapping the scope for a (relatively) cheap Vortex off another rifle and it suddenly started shooting consistent tight groups so I guess i'll have to wait and see what they come back with.
