Want new gun but can't decide.

So, i have been able to talk myself into needing a new deer hunting rifle. Want more than need but thats just the way things are. Am CURRENTLY looking at the Tikka - Sako range as they are what I am familiar with, but open to ideas. It will be in .270win and will be kept for a good few years. Because of this I have basically opened my eyes and wallet up to anything around the value of a Sako 85 Finnlight.
Now a few points, (1) Im not a huge fan of mauser actions unless I know they will quickly smooth out. (2) Dont want to have to do much extra work, such as bedding etc. (3) Already have too many scopes so money will only be spent on the gun. Thought id mention that before a get a number of posts saying buy a T3 and throw a nightforce on it. To be honest T3's feel like BB guns, so no matter how good they are (and they are very good) i won't buy a gun that doesnt excite me between the knees
Let me know if there is anything else I should be keeping in mind. Will also be using a Bi pod on it too.
    Cheers

At the end of the day what one comes to your shoulder the best is what you need to think of I won't suggest considering a howa 1500 or marlin X7 as you are definitely wanting higher end of the rifle market but if it were me I would be going for a CZ 550 lux in .270

Yeh all of those are nice rifles, and thats the problem. Has anybody heard about the accuracy out of the finnlight compared to the normal 85 stainless synthetic with full barrel? almost seems too light weight.

The single stack mags on T3 are just a cunt when you are used to double, go with the 85.

Get a big one with a big hole down the pipe, It will be cool as hell and if you don't get a one shot kill the weight of the projectile will keep it securely in one location until you get there.

Seriously though Don't get a Tikka unless you want to borrow cheap spares off your mates.

What about a sauer / blouser etc

its hard to go past a sako, you are on to a winner from day one, 270 Isnt a favorite of mine for energy down range, 260 7mm08 or 7RM are top choices in my book depending on what it will be used for

What ranges? Considering the old 308 is such a cheap, versitle round with low barrel wear I scratch my head on ppl passing it by so quickly...

If I had the wish for a hunting gun and that much $s, I'd get a sako I think, they look very well made, accuarte and seem to hold thier value well...after that if $s are tighter a CZ...Id want wood or wood laminate with stainless....I just love the warmth of wood and the shine of stainless.

    Finnlight in 7mm rem mag

    Waiting.....

The Sako's are very efficient game harvesters, just save these for breeding.
