Philipo,
From the measurements shown on your digital calipers I calculate that the thread is imperial and is 5/8 x 24 UNEF which according to Machinery's Screw Thread Book is 0.625" x 24 TPI x 60 degree thread form, Unified National Extra Fine.
Used as a thread for suppressors and muzzle brakes on barrels with muzzle diameters of 18-22mm.
16x1 or 5/8-24
At this point its 4 posts long.
$12 each on trademe for each imperial and metric. Great investment
Or you could just take it to a local engineer and get him to run a thread gauage over it to confirm what the other guys have already said. now it is 7 posts long :P
If we keep posting we can make a fence :)
Yeah mate, held my thread gauge against the screen and it's definitely 5/8x24tpi :wtfsmilie:
Hmm scrub that, hard to tell exactly how many peaks between in the photo, damn parallax
Bring it on Friday and ill measure and test fit known threads
It's on this beautiful heavy barrel Savage ( not sure if it was factory threaded )
