What are they talking about? False claims around firearms
Just an idea we should list all the false/biased claims around firearms from media or government announcement. Or anything you heard from elsewhere. We shall correct those claims and try give the public a balanced story.
To start:
"Assault rifles" we don't have assault rifles which has selective fire - full auto and/or burst. MSSA is semi auto only.
"High calibre" 223/5.56 is a small calibre, intermediate cartridge. It's essentially the same calibre as the .22LR
"No one needs MSSA" professional pest control, 3 gun/multigun/service rifle shooters and any other fit n proper person who has legit use of the said firearms beg to differ. We could also argue no one needs a car that is capable of driving over 100 km/h and we should ban all those cars.
What are they talking about? False claims around firearms
Hi all,
This is Pretty IMPORTANT to be aware of..
1. AR-15
The AR stands for Armalite, the original manufacturer/developer. Stoners mates.
Not “Assault Rifle”
Originally designed it is an assault rifle but only when capable of select fire. They actually aren’t “assault rifles” ( a/e cat versions )
2. There is way more than 1.5 million guns in NZ.
You really think over 150 years of history & conflicts there is only 1.5 million guns....
3. The fact it was committed/exploited by a foreigner. Not a kiwi.
4. If they don’t offer market value and modest reimbursement for these firearms they will not get them handed in, this needs to be overwhelming emphasised to the public and made sure of. The media has the power to promote this.
In the end we all know deep down we/they/the arms act ~ whoever, fucked up. Buying hi cap mags without the need of a license was nuts ( the actual only thing that made then partially “military style” compared to a fucking bayonet lug ect ect ). I remember as a new shooter thinking that was fucked, and why it was that way??
Thanks for reading :)
