What's the pick of the lever action calibers?

Am thinking of getting a lever or maybe a single shot take down. I haven't decided. Mainly as my bush gun is now almost certainly illegal.

What's a good cartridge that has good factory availability?

I only have a 30 cal suppressor which would limit me to 30-30. But I don't mind getting a larger suppressor.

Are 44 mag or 357 worth getting over 30-30?

This would only be used in bush where there's no chance of a longer shot.

I thought they weren't the easiest to suppress. That's long enough for me.

30-30 is a rifle cartridge, the other two are pistol cartridges, so 30-30 should have better range and energy.

Ok. I'll have to look at prices of ammo. I don't reload yet so it is a factor.

Bergara 308 as a single shot. The new henry in 308 could be a good candidate. The browning bar in 308 although maybe a bit more expensive. And the marlin 30-30. All can get suppressed and will had way more grunt than a 357 or a 44

.30/30 is pretty useful out to at least 150 metres, way better than any pistol caliber. The .50-110 WCF was probably the best of the traditional lever action rounds in its day but well overshadowed today. It had a good reputation in India but not so much in Africa due to a lack of suitable deep-penetrating bullets. I would still like one though!

A 30/30 Marlin ( scope mounting is easy , and they tend to be more accurate than a Win 94 ) with a half mag tube ( allows for an over the barrel suppressor) shooting 180 gn bullets and a low power scope would be some serious bush medicine.

150 metres away would be a far shot for its intended purpose. Just bush stalking.

444 marlin wouk probably do the trick in Africa!

    Sounds like a plan.
