Thread: Why My Deer Cartridge is Better than Yours

I'm liking this thread and response to Hermitage claim.

This could easily spiral out of control easily. I would back many calibres that have taken so much game. My first Deer was taken with a .223 opportunistically.
I have a favourite, and a pet hate.

I do know unequivocally the only most incorrect answer is the 6.5Creedmoor, formally referred to Cream Puff ��

if you google most powerful shotguns...you get a yankee bulldust top 10...one of them is a sawn off SxS WHERE THE ENDS OF SHELL ARE PROTRUDING so the chamber isnt even a full 3" long so no barrel as such.... it was used in a movie set and apparently when tested spread shot 2 feet wide at 1 foot range...I call bullshit on that one and there would be virtually zero velocity as the shot payload would only have to travel inch at best before the blast could escape past/around it.

Anyway, why the Russian - what about the old 303? Well some nutter already went there... A classic for deer, especially when they are 3 feet in front of you, and you don't want to wake the neighbourhood.
