Question Will 7mm08 bore snake work with a 6.5x55

Can anyone tell me if a 7mm08 bore snake will work in a 6.55x55 barrel? I know they are pretty similar in diameter but don't want to cause any issues.

Is 0.49mm ish bore difference too much and will it cause damage? would one time cause damage?

    Cheers

Half mm less diameter, 14% less space in the smaller diameter barrel. A bit tighter to pull through maybe, risk it, maybe at worst wear out the snake quicker, but the barrel itself does not care about that as the snake is nowhere near barrel hardness.

Personally, I'd just look further for the exactly right one, since a tools that works quite OK is a tool you'll find quite irritating to use.

It’s made of brass and synthetic fibres, both of which are softer than steel.

How tight is the 7mm one in a 7mm bore? My 243 bore snake is bloody tight and hard to pull through so I wouldn't even think about trying it in a smaller bore. The 22 and 30 cal ones are much easier, so those could go okay in a slightly smaller bore.

They're only about $5 delivered from Aliexpress. Just buy a couple and see which one you like.

Fuk year bro she'll be algood, Won't be ideal but it will still do the bizo. I've used a 30 in a 7mil was pretty tight though lol

Just make sure you don't rub against the crown or break the pull cord
Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!

+1 for the Aliexpress. Got on in 6.5mm for hardly any coin.

Once through the 6.5 and you will need to buy another one for the 7 mm as the brushes will have been resized.

Yes, you can use it fine. No problem. When its new it will be hard to pull through the first few times - if its too hard, wrap the tail end it around your bolt a couple of times and pull it out holding onto that.
