Will a ZL CDS turret fit a non-CDS scope?

Does anyone know if a Leupold zero lock custom CDS dial will fit a non-CDS scope?

    I have two VX3's, one 3i with an S1 dial (on a rifle), and a new-to-me 3HD ZL CDS (in a box).
Ideally I want the CDS on the rifle that currently has the 3i with S1, and the S1 dial on another rifle. If I can just swap turrets it means I only have to mount and zero one scope, rather than two.
I may have to take the turrets off to find out if it's possible, but thought I'd ask here first.

    TIA

Rip into it & tell us the results The ZL is a lot lower profile than a scope fitted with a S1, that alone would make me want to change the whole scope over.

I swapped the scopes over, hopefully off to the range tomorrow to rezero - as long as I remember to take the multitude of different allen keys needed!

I decided it wouldn't work, the S1 dial needs a base added to it, and I recall someone on here sent their non-CDS scopes away to be "CDSed", which they wouldn't have done if it was just the dial that needed changing.

Also ordered my custom dial this afternoon, now I wait 4-6 weeks...

Yeah I don’t have the zl2 dial but even my leupold vxr dial wouldn’t fit my vx6
Different height attachment thingies under the turret

Burnt some fairy dust sending some unicorn turds down range today, I think I’ll avoid thinking about how much it cost and the chances of finding replacement components.
On the plus side, the scope I bore sighted at 850 odd metres was close to bang on, no windage adjustments needed just a bit of elevation.

Wait what? You bore sighted a rifle then shot it at 850 metres?

No, I boresighted it at ~850 metres instead of my usual 20m.
    Then I shot it today at 25, 50, 100, 200 and 300.
