    Winchester stock identification

Been getting some bits and pieces recently off a guy. Some very handy ones and some not lol
Anyhoo he had a very nice stock sitting there and I reckoned I had a fair idea what it was. Some initial DR Google confirmed it.
Very confident it's either a Winchester 100 or 88 stock. Quite nice dark wood with some figure in it and in pretty good nick
Is there much of a difference in the two action profiles?
I do realize there was never many of either about and even less now the 100s have been sent to the naughty corner.

Bump had a bit of another internet search and found they are close but the auto needed a slightly beefier fore end to allow for the inletting to suit the extra operating bits of the auto.
Doesn't help much as I have nothing to compare it to @gundoc how is your memory of these?

    I agree
I've txt the guy to see if he is happy to take some pics.
I will add it's not for me. I won't make a cent out of it if he does sell it.
I have a sneaky feeling it is inletted ahead of the trigger guard so probably for a 100.
I suppose that means it wouldn't be too hard to fill in and bed for an 88

The M100 is routed out in the fore-end for the gas system where the M88 is solid.
