@Scottishkiwi I'm not sure why anyone would want to put a muzzle brake on a shotgun...

Go down to 20g or get a semi auto if recoils worrying you.
Why?
Maybe he just wants the maimai to his self, after the first shot!!
seriously not required. See if you can get hold of some of the lighter steel loads. A 20ga wont necessarilly boot less. 1 1/4oz loads in a lighter 20ga will hurt more than the same load in a heavier 12g.
I don't think its to reduce recoil, I think its for the "door breaching, chest poking" look. Tacticool
Hehe its for my short barrel, not my longer one id be using for hunting and yes its for the tacti-cool look ;) Because can't be too prepared for zombies! Let a man have some fun hehe
Most shotguns are threaded internally to fit chokes. The saiga is threaded externally. So you will need to have the barrel threaded to suit.
It may involved shortening the barrel to get enough thickness of steel. If yours has removeable chokes. Talk to your gun Smith.
Cutting the chokes out will make it only short range. As the pattern will spread very quickly with no choke anymore.
Also a break will make the firearm much louder. Especially a short barreled one. It could mean plugs and muffs only to shoot it. Not ideal for hunting.
Just things to consider
Greg
No it won't. Its designed for an external thread.
Vepr barrel is much thicker.
870 barrel at the muzzle is already thin from the choke, so unless you are shooting a cylinder barrel with no chokes (aka slugs and 00 buckshot only) I wouldn't externally thread the barrel.
There are 870 specific brakes or ported chokes for the existing internal choke thread you can get if you do want a door breaching tacticool/zombie armageddon 12 gauge.
