    X Bolt Triggers

    Hey all,

Just wanting to get some advice around the X Bolt triggers. Specifically lightening them.
They are adjustable, but down to around 3lbs, which is not my ideal. I have seen a replacement spring from MCarbo, but it looks to only reduce the weight down to 2.5lbs (still not my ideal weight of 2lbs).

Apart from just forking out the money and buying a Timney trigger, is there any other options that you know of? Apparently a spring from a Bic pen works....? Anyone on here had some success with that?

    Cheers - appreciate the help.

I actually had Blood get in my action after a particularly cunty carry out and it ended up rusting out the trigger springs , and so I bought a timney. Great investment imo.

    Hi,

I bought a gunbloke spring for $17.20 delivered from aus. I'm yet to install it but it's supposed to make the trigger adjustable from 1.5 to 2.5 lbs. I figured it was cheap enough to give a go.

Mark at Desert guns in Cromwell lightened mine when I first bought it. It is nice and light and crisp.

I also bought a gunbloke spring (have an mcarbo spring in another xbolt). Haven't measured oull but feels good, possibly lighter than mcarbo .

The sear spring was sideways from the factory so I pulled the whole trigger apart and polished everything while in there, also means I still have the original spring intact instead of destroying it as per instructions to get it out.

Yea, that the thing that puts me off doing a lighter spring. Just don't like the idea of ruining the original spring in the process. however MCarbo's latest video show them removing it without destroying it.

Did you have any problems getting the gunbloke spring into NZ?

It's no big deal to sort the trigger, I've had 3 of them done and you can take them down as light as you want, just needs a length of commercial spring stock same OD as the original but with the wire diameter slightly smaller, cut it the same length as the original, polish the sear, reassemble and adjust with the allen screw. You can PM me if you want and I can put you on to the guy that did mine, he's in Opotiki - $100 and about an hour is all it takes. Polishing the sear is an important part of the process, not just changing the spring.

Haha that would be great! But I doubt it! Apparently a 3lb trigger is 'feather light' to the Americans!!

Just installed a xbolt spring from high velocity Australia, was around $30 with postage but has lightened the trigger nicely my shitty luggage scale indicates just over 3lbs to start with and now under 2lbs with more adjustment in the trigger adjustment if needed.
