    Excuse my ignorance on these types of rifles but,what is the tube bit surrounding the barrel for other than mounting a bipod? is it suppost to reduce mirage from a hot barrel? Looks like it requires the scope to be mounted fairly high.

    The XLR chassis are looking great, the tube over the barrel is lighter very rigid and can be bought in different lengths, if you made a solid rail of the same rigidness it would be alot heavier.
    They are a very good solid platform for a serious long range rig.
    1000yds is fun, 1500yds is getting interesting, 2000yds is exciting, 2500yds will blow your mind
