    Had an early model Marlin .44 Mag years back. Shot my first deer and my first stoat with that gun. To this day I regret selling it but I was younger and sillier back then.
    If you a shooting close range, look at a nice set of ghost sights. Very fast target acquisition, light weight and no bulk, and you don't have to contend with all the lens issues when its raining.
