    Zen Ray

Whatever happened to Zen Ray? I have searched Google and seems they are still "available" from dodgy looking websites but cant really find any from a trustworthy looking source. I had a pair of ED3 10x43 back in the day (2014-15?) When Zen Ray and bushnell 6500's were all the rage. They were great binos for the money and I was recently thinking of getting a pair of spare binos to throw in the truck and thought they may be an option. Anyone still running a pair?

From what I gather they were very poor at honouring ever increasing warranty claims. I have a pair of ED2's that are still running.

Have the ED3's but they are hardly used, have done a couple of Tahr trips and live at Brians, really good glass, will cost me a pretty penny when I have to replace them to get the same optics.

Yes, I had ED3. Still going strong but I gave them to a cocky's son where I hunt.
    The company has folded.

I have the ED2s. Just side graded to Leica compacts. I just need to do a side by side comparison and see if I will use the zen rays again but if you are looking or a pair I would be happy to move the ED2s on. They have great glass and a wider field of view than the leica compacts. I just got sick of carrying full sized binos around...

That's a pity. I had and used the older (ED2's) and I thought they were great.

Yeah. On reflection mine were ED2.
There's quite a bit of glass around at about $800-1000 (if you import it) that gives the Euro stuff a run for its 3x price. The best are "Tract" - they are direct marketed by the company.

They do a higher spec model but more $$$$$ still way cheaper than ELs, might be worth a look
