I don't know yet.......it's the first time I have cleaned that barrel.
But yeah it's wild considering it's shooting once fouled.
    Needs more data....

Across the last 40 rounds of zero check - 39 have hit inside a 1MOA circle centred on POA. 1 has not. That's still not 100%....
I'm inspired by the state of your turrets lol. I've put my beloved march on my hunting 308 (tikka 16"). Tho I'm not game heading north of 16lbs of torque on those scope top screws.
I'm just using weaver branded skeletal rings but I did notice a huge difference in boresight POI when I thumbsucked the rail bolts. When I used the fat wrench and set them to 45lbs I noticed I was now pointing right at the centre click (exactly 14mils left and right).

Savage Lightweight. Timney replacement trigger. Hardy 1:8 barrel sporter contour. Factory bedding.
    Zeiss HD5 3-15 - circa 20 years old.

Rifle unused for 12 weeks. WD40 in barrel. One pass with dry pull through before first group today.

Backlanz bipod. Hard wooden bench. Bipod probably slightly loaded but not consciously. Rear bag. Left hand squeezing rear bag.

First, 5 shots. 62 grn Norma handholds. First shot post clean bottom right, other 4 after the fouling shot.

Straight on to 5 x 60 grn Hammer Hunter handholds.

Result: Has held zero inside 1.5moa for over a year without adjustment. Several hundred shots.
Sometimes my shooting has been a bit shitty (1.5moa) and sometimes Ive surprised myself like today with the Hammers.

Over all this is a hell of a reliable platform. It shoots 7 different bullet types and weights into the same zero. Watch out for it in my estate sale.

Had you made any adjustments since this initial zero?

Details - 2nd hand Leupold VX-freedom 3-9 scope with CDS, Talley lightweight mounts on Howa 1500. (Group was shot in two lots of five on a different target, and manually overlaid hence the dots).

I believe one click down. Initial zero was off a wooden bench and subsequent two were off a concrete bench. Not sure if that's a factor, as well as potential parallax error. I feel comfortable that it's not moving enough (or at all) to warrant concern for my intended use anyway. I also shot a subsequent 5 shot group which measured 1.2moa so I think it's all within the precision window for this setup.

4th 10 shot group with this load and getting a consistent mean radius so happy to run with it. Adjusted .2 down and fired 5. I felt it might still be a smidge low, so, came up one click and called it a day due to running low on the ammo I will need tomorrow.

I will fire another 10 shot group when I get back to the range to check if it moves at all. My expectation is the vertical should be no more than a click off up or down, and I think it will be obvious if there is any left or right movement.

This set up shat the bed big time in terms of holding zero this weekend past. I need to shoot it off of the bench in the same way I zeroed it to rule out shooter error, and whether attaching an Arca rail and a Ckyepod to the handguard resulted in a POI shift.

It was used to shoot a couple of fallow at 300m after the above zeroing session, and it shot predictably. It was handled roughly getting a deer out of a gut, and on quad bikes since, so if it is something mechanical and not just me, I will need to comb over what has happened.

Hadn't checked recently. Banged 5 through it today. Based on prior data, no evidence of a shift yet.

The bottom group is very tidy. Podium.

Probably safe to assume my issue was related to fundamentals, or parallax or something. Safe to assume my zero hasn't "moved".

No changes or adjustments. Zero checked off front and rear bag, on a concrete bench, same as I originally zeroed it.

I could bring it up .1 mil I guess
