295 yards
Not too much to say just one I got on film last week. Shot at 295 yards with the .243 90gr BT. Shot looked good dropping it on the spot but in fact was too high as needed to finish it off once I got over their :/

Like the sun on the projectile. Looked like a tracer.
I wouldn't be to worried about needing a finisher. That's a long way for the .243:)

Still a well placed shot with a 243

Gotta love it when they drop like that

Not a long way for .243, I don't use the 90 NBT, I run the 95VLD, but it kills Bull Tahr way past that, and they are a tougher proposition than deer.

Good shooting @Dreamer. If you pause at 27sec you can freeze an image of the bullet in flight. It looks like a long tracer.

Great stuff. I’ve seen my old man use my 243 at way out past 500m dropping a massive hind over Taumaranui ways. I was behind him telling him not to shoot as it would have been me who had to run up and across there to finish her off. I was amazed and I’ve never forgotten that shot; a 12 year old thinking fark my old man is amazing [emoji23].
Not bad for a Sierra 90 grain jammed in behind the only powder I could get in 1986 in Te Kuiti - no scales either [emoji2361][emoji23]
That Parkerhale Safari 243 took me a heap of Hares, pigs, goats and deer. I’ve always thought the 6mm and 6.5mm pills are great killers possibly because of their excellent penetration?
Ok I’m obviously bored, back to work people...

Good stuff.
For longer shots, I deliberately aim for the high shoulder. The reason being the animal will collapse on the spot, every time. The advantage is that if required, which isn’t often, you can finish them off easily because you know exactly where they are, rather than having had them run on you.

Awesome, cool trace of the round too

Awsome love it good shot :D

That would be the best view of a projectile i have seen, usually you only see the turbulance, what a freak to catch that in the sunlight.

As above looked cool on it's mission, have used the 243 on and off for years, it's a good caliber and punches way above it's size.
