Well I was earning to much leave at work and had to use some. So a quick check with the wife and I booked the ferry to head down south.
Now the weather the week before was absolute MUD! but it looked like I might strike a fine spell....which I did. Unfortunately all my careful planning and research was all for nothing as it turned out. Because of the rain event earlier the rivers and side creeks were still effectively flooding. So I was a stranger in a strange land with no plan B. So I headed to a cousins of mine that was not to far away and used a spare bed. From there I ended up doing day trips around the region exploring new country. And as it turned out I had a blast and was able to bring a few animals home with me.
Thanks very much to @JoshC for his help and advice.

A little chamois I got on a stinking hot day. My watch thermometer said 33 degrees that day. Even if it was out a few degrees, it was still bloody hot.
