I’m wondering if it’s fashion that is why the no nettle has a more fearsome reputation in New Zealand?
    Hear me out.
Here in a England because of tics and lymes disease and in general the population wear long pants. NZ nope shorts baby so when you come across nettles the Kiwi is going to get a proper dose

Bit of an epic hunt that one but you can always learn a few more tricks as you go. Nice looking stag should be a good eater. Yeh I hate that OngaOnga nasty stuff, usually leaves welts if stung badly. Great write up loved the story.

Not sure what Ongaonga is like we have stinging nettles and stinging trees, break a young bracken fern off, bust it up a bit and rub the juice on the sting, works good, might work on your onga too, be interested to know the result.
