9.5 hr walk in means I won't complain about my 6hr amble in again.
Good vid, great animal shots
Excellent vid mate, some awesome looking west coast country.
Awesome video mate, love the dedication to capturing things on film, intend to get tired of getting the camera out...
Loved the footage and quality, beautiful place.
Great footage and physical effort ,a worthy trophy non the less. For fks sake smile your supposed to be having fun ya grumpy looking prick
Another good vid😆
That stag was never going to get any better so it is a pretty good thing you shot it considering the potential of the area. Good stuff. I know a lot of people that go in there and see nothing then whinge about it in magazines.

Good work. A great vid without rock music blasting in the background. Top marks
Oooh I have been there before! Great video and awesome country :D
You sure have become a lot more sophisticated in your tastes and approach to life since I last saw you when you were just a little scone grabber :)
Your videos are a real credit to you, as is your dedication to this great sport and your physical endurance.
You just need to get a sense of humour and you will be pretty much the well rounded chap.
Great vid, Impressive mission.
That's a kick arse looking shooter you got there.
Yea not bad! ;)
Another good video cheers for the watch.
Good job on the stag, normally its not the size of the head that makes the hunt its all the other things :)
Great vid mister gimp.
every time I see the pack on and stride purposefully past the camera in a hunting vid (almost every one it seems) I laugh to myself about them walking back taking the pack off putting the camera in it putting the pack on and walking off again, just over used and kinda pointless, prefer the selfy style if you must film yourself walking.
Historic possie that. Lucky you weren't in "Siberia" when the snow came through.
You are taking it serious Gimp and I admire that, still the suit I once met ;)
Nice one dude! Can sort of understand your want for lightweight gear now.
Very cool vid shot in a rather dramatic fashion. Oddly reminded me of Monty Pythons Holy Grail with the dramatic but bleak scenery.
Shit hot Gimp, well done mate, glad the hard yakka paid off
it's got the grit that vid.great style.
Simply a very good film!
Sick man. Epic trip. Bet that 9.5 hour walk out with a full pack was plenty of fun
Thanks for that effort Gimp. That's classic NZ hunting in one of the tougher pieces of country. Full marks for showing a great hunt and how quality of trip isn't counted in points of antler.
Also, a good follow up to making the "lightweight rifle".
Scope caps ? I've never used them because as soon as I cover the lens after opening it gets covered in condensation. Do you wipe dry with cloth, use lens liquid or keep it shut till ready to shoot ?
Try to keep them dry til ready to shoot, and carry a lens cloth in a ziplock bag... still trying to find the perfect combo for dry lenses in heavy rain and mist... The tenebraex caps don't seal perfectly so they let mist in.
Epic mate. Love your filming and editing style. Ive the same pack as you but haven't done the distance.with it as yourself. How did you find it comfort wise. Also, great STAG! Congratulations.
Wicked video gimp. Must get a buzz not just from the hunt but from making such a good video you can watch anytime.
As usual I loved the commentry haha :)
